MacKenzie Brokers Delaware Acquisition
MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC builds upon its Mid-Atlantic presence with the recent representation of the acquisition of 2160 New Castle Avenue, located in New Castle, Delaware. The 35,500 square foot flagship commercial property situated on 5.74 acres was owned by Rommel Harley-Davidson, an operator of multiple Harley-Davidson dealerships throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The iconic structure, which fronts I-295 just west of the Delaware Memorial Bridge, included a large retail showroom, mezzanine level office, storage, and a repair and service facility. Rommel Harley-Davidson will ultimately transition the New Castle operations to a recently announced new, state-of-the-art dealership to be built in Middletown, Delaware. MacKenzie Executive Vice President Chris Bennett and Vice President Chris Walsh represented the seller.
The purchaser, represented by Sean Langford, Vice President also with MacKenzie, was a Baltimore-based private investment group. The purchaser has plans to redevelop the site to include multiple pad sites, one of which will contain a new Royal Farms convenience store.
The property is positioned just before the last exit for eastbound I-295 before crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and at the first exit for those just having crossed westward, providing unparalleled exposure.
